Our Story
At Carbon Community Baptist Church, we are a loving family of believers who are passionate about growing in faith, serving our community, and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. Located in the heart of Carbon, we have been serving our local community with the message of God’s love and grace for many years.
Our mission is simple: to glorify God by living out the teachings of Jesus Christ through worship, fellowship, and service. We are dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone, from lifelong believers to those just exploring their faith, can come together to experience the love of God.

A Word From Our Pastor Jody Forbus
Welcome to our church! My name is Jody Forbus, and I have been blessed to pastor the Carbon Community Baptist Church since 1998. I am married to my childhood sweetheart, Wendy Forbus, and we have been richly blessed with 3 grown, married children, and 7 grandchildren. My family and I have a unique blessing as we all get to serve the Lord in the same community.
Seven years prior to surrendering my life to full-time church ministry, I served as a deacon at our home church in Stephenville. Wendy and I never dreamed God would call us to come back to the community of Carbon where we both grew up. It all started when I was asked to lead a Bible study on Friday nights in the small cafe in little downtown Carbon with a hungry group of Believers. After several months of meeting together on Friday nights, the group initiated the birth of this church as a mission body. After several months, God called me to be its Pastor. Since that time, I have remained committed to Preaching and Teaching the Word of God and somehow, 27 years additional years have flown by! My vision for our church continues to be in the business of life transformation by the saving Grace of Jesus Christ, and to always be discipling and equipping believers to follow Him daily in their walk with Christ. Our body is growing in faith and in service and in love, and we are thrilled to know God is at work in Carbon, TX. It is a very exciting time to be part of God’s work here. I am also blessed to be serving our community through the local Volunteer Fire Department as Fire Chief which often offers opportunities for church outreach as many of our members also serve as volunteers. In 2019, the Lord led our congregation to birth the Carbon Christian Academy and I am able to serve the school as Board President. We marvel at how God keeps bringing new students and families together to accomplish His Holy Work. God is truly blessing Carbon Community Baptist Church, and we will always seek ways to shine as a light in our county, and we will always give GOD all the Glory!
